I think, IBM, the largest consulting and Solution Company, has seen the potential in the business analytic market and want to capture the greater share of pie in business intelligence market. This can be inferred from the in recent takeover of SPSS which has sent the clear signal to rivals like SAP, Accenture and Oracle.

IBM has made a $1.2bn cash bid for SPSS which was the target of the biggest vendors. The SPSS buyout along with acquisition of Cognos has strengthened IBM's presence in Buisness analytics.

So an "On Demad" IBM is seeing the future in "Business Analytics" and gearing for the same?
